The Thundercross motorbike track is just up the
road and there are alot of horsie people around. If you have kids
then they will attend Te Kauwhata schools which are very good and the local
bus stop is just up the road. There are a few kids that catch the
bus from the area. The Rangiriri Hotel has the best meals in the
whole of NZ.
Naike is very rural but still very central being
on Highway 22. It is an hours drive to Hamilton or South Auckland,
40 mins to Pukekohe or Raglan, or 25 mins to either Te Kauwhata or Huntly.
It is also central to all major race tracks including the new Hampton Downs
race track. Glen Murray Mobil Service Station is 5 mins up the road
for all your fuel or mechanical needs. The locals use Farmside as
their means for fast internet services because Telecom has yet to upgrade
the lines although you do get dial up. The rates are with Franklin
District Council at $1050 pa (includes both titles) with the location being
deemed residential, as well as Waikato Enviro rates at $235 pa approx.
